My Bachelors in Sociology/Anthropology was based on a love for Zora Neale Hurston, an author and Folklorist I admire for the authenticity of her characters. My research explores the multifaceted identities of Black and Muslim Cultures in America and contemplates the terms for equity in the US and the South.
